Tallow: Sorry vegans, this cream is “everything but vegan.” …But, it’s all natural and it’s been used in the old days before the cosmetic industry started to grow into big companies.
Tallow is an animal fat that is similar to our own skin. It’s different in fat-composition from plant derived fats and it balances out all kinds of skins and skin conditions. It’s proven to be very helpful for eczema and psoriasis, acne, aging skin.. etc. Tallow creates a protective layer, just like our own skin’s sebum does. In fact, tallow literally means “sebum”.
The tallow used in this cream comes from an organic farm and from cows that roam around in the wild. These cows are grass-fed and are not given any anti-biotics or other nasties. This is important as anything the cow eats comes into their body.
Tallow is famous for it’s healing benefits for skin problems such as rashes, irritations, eczema, psoriasis, pimples, acne, sunburn, dry skin, oily skin, large pores, black-heads, etc.
Tallow contains a lot of saturated fats. These fats are identical to our molecular structure and composition of our own skin. This is why the vitamins in the tallow are being well absorbed into the skin. Tallow contains Vitamins A, D, K and E and fats that have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil is often overlooked as it’s more famous for it’s use in cooking. The same qualities and benefits you experience on the inside can benefit your skin. Extra virgin olive oil is loaded with nutrition and antioxidants like vitamins A and E, polyphenols, and phytosterols. They can help repair skin damage from sun exposure, cigarette smoke and pollutants. Olive oil does not clog pores and penetrates deeply into the skin while providing a cleansing effect.
Essential Oils; Lavender, Geranium, Chamomile have a calming and refreshing effect and are also chosen for their skin regenerating properties.
* Don’t use this balm when pregnant or nursing or on baby’s. Essential oils may be too strong for children that small.
Because Tallow Balm is a natural product, it may vary in texture and color, due to temperature changes. It does not mean the cream has gone bad. Do make sure not to get any water into the jar as this may cause mould to grow. If well preserved tallow balm has a shelf life of a year. Keep the jar tightly capped.
